From a name to a signed player

Adding a target

Squad → Shortlist. A name and a position is enough to start. Add contact details, a club, a video link or an Instagram handle as you get them — the record is meant to be filled in over months, not in one sitting.

Stages

Every target sits at a stage, ordered the way a conversation usually travels:

• Identified — a name, nothing said yet
• Contacted — you have reached out
• In talks — a conversation is happening
• In trial — they are training with you
• Trial offered — the offer is out
• Agreed — they are coming
• Declined — they said no
• Passed — you said no

The two endings are kept apart on purpose. A player who declined you in March is a different prospect next season to one you passed on, and a single "closed" stage loses that.

Ratings and interest

Rate a target out of five, and record how keen they are separately — from not interested through to very interested. Those are two different facts and conflating them is how a club ends up chasing the wrong player. Both are filterable and sortable, so "who is good and actually wants to come" is one view rather than a conversation.

Depth fit

The shortlist knows your depth chart. A target's position is shown against how thin you actually are there, so a very good centre-back is visibly less urgent when you already have four. This is the view worth opening before a trial night rather than after it.

Trials

A trialist can be added to a session like anyone else without being on your roster. They appear on the session plan and in attendance, and stay out of your squad, your stats and your fee ledger until you sign them.

Signing

When a target reaches Agreed, convert them to a player. Their record carries across, they get portal access, and whatever the club has written under Documents goes out to them. Your agreement, in your words — signed with a finger on a phone, and what is stored is the exact wording they were shown, not a template and a tick.
